Common questions
How do I create my own timer?
On My Timers, tap the + button. Add your work and rest intervals, set the number of rounds and sets, and add a warm-up or cool-down if you like. You can also open any template, tap Edit, and save your own version.
I can't hear the sounds or voice cues.
Check that Sounds is on in ADAM's Settings and that the volume slider is up. On iPhone, the volume buttons control ADAM's sounds while a workout is running. If you are playing music, turn on "Lower music during alerts" in Settings so cues are easier to hear.
Will the timer keep running when my phone is locked?
Yes. Turn on Background alerts in Settings and allow notifications when asked. ADAM will then alert you at each interval change while the screen is off or you are in another app.
How do I connect a heart rate sensor?
Go to Settings → Heart rate and tap Find sensors. Wear your chest strap (or turn on heart rate broadcasting on your watch), then choose it from the list. ADAM works with standard Bluetooth heart rate sensors. Your heart rate appears at the top of the workout screen.
How does the flashlight alert work?
Turn on Flashlight in Settings. The camera light flashes on each interval change, which helps in loud gyms. ADAM asks for camera access only to use the light; it never takes photos or video.
Can I switch between light and dark mode?
Yes. Go to Settings → Appearance and choose Light, Dark or System. Restart ADAM to apply the change.
Are my timers backed up?
Your timers are stored on your device and are included in your normal iCloud or Google device backup. If you delete ADAM without a backup, your timers are deleted too.
Is ADAM free?
Yes. ADAM is free to download, and every timer, template and feature is currently free to use.
